Summary:

This Cellular Immunotherapy Program Coordinator will work to enhance the Cellular Immunotherapy (CIT) Program through program infrastructure development, research and aids in the overall coordination of care for all potential patients referred for CIT, inclusive of but not limited to financial/authorization obtainment, research and database management. Serves as a liaison and resource expert on CIT for patients, families, and staff. Provides education regarding CIT as a treatment option to patient / family in conjunction with the CIT providers, referring providers, case managers, third party providers, and other appropriate team members. Establishes programmatic policies, procedures and integration with quality programs to fulfill and maintain FACT accreditation. Successfully supports the growth of the CIT program and safe CIT patient care. Assess and coordinates staff educational needs with H/O Educators and 5 NT managers. Plans work priorities in patient care facilitation and in accordance with overall CIT program goals. Requisite for this position is person with strong clinical expertise, effective communication, strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively within the team environment.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing required.
  • 3 years experience in hospital or acute care setting required.
  • Adult or Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant, or comparable preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Current licensure to practice professional nursing in Texas.
  • Current BLS.
  • Preferred Certification in Oncology Nursing, OCN, ACON, or CPHON.
