Responsibilities

About Us: Join our innovative Test Data Management Team, where we provide engineering solutions to solve complex problems across our organization. Our engineering solutions are implemented on multiple platforms including Public Cloud, On-Prem, and Mainframe. Bring your talents into our strong engineering team to help build & support solutions for our organization.

Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced full stack Lead Software Engineer that will maintain existing solutions, facilitate migration to AWS, and engineer new solutions utilizing latest technologies, including AI. This role involves working with large volumes of data and leveraging data-driven processes to manage workflows effectively. A strong engineering background and deep knowledge of relational data are essential for success in this position as you collaborate with our engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a member of the engineering team to support and maintain software and data solutions
  • Perform engineering tasks to migrate applications onto AWS
  • Deliver new engineering solutions that facilitate horizontal testing initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve issues effectively

Qualifications

Engineering Skillset:

  • Java, JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Linux, Kubernetes & Docker
  • CI/CD Pipelines, TDD/BDD
  • Application Architecture & Design
  • Event-Driven Architecture
  • AWS Datastores (e.g., S3, RDS, DynamoDB, RDS)
  • EC2 / ECS, Terraform, Lambda

Data Skillset:

  • Deep understanding of structured databases (e.g., Db2, Postgres)
  • High proficiency with Structured Query Language (SQL) and data processing
  • JSON, XML, Parquet, etc. file types
  • Ideal Candidate has strong data experience, data design being a plus

HYBRID: Qualified candidates (in or near hub locations listed below) should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment.
HUB LOCATIONS: Dunwoody, GA; Tempe, AZ; or Bloomington, IL

SPONSORSHIP: Applicants for this position are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (e.g. H-1B visa) for this opportunity.

Potential starting Salary is $85,500 - $175,000 annually. Because work-life-balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week! Salary offered is dependent on skills and qualifications, with the high end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience.

Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary.
