    Qualifications:
    Experience directing or assisting in musical theater productions, preferably at the high school level.

    Pay Rate/Range: $4,990 stipend - Subject to change upon the settlement of the 25-27 Master Agreement.

    Deadline: Open Until Filled - EOE (3/7/2025) Employment is contingent upon completion of a background check.

    Job Summary:
    Northfield High School is seeking a passionate and experienced Fall Play/Musical Director to lead our annual high school fall play musical production. This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in musical theater, leadership skills, and the ability to inspire and instruct students of varying skill levels. The director will oversee all aspects of the production, from casting and rehearsals to collaboration with production staff and ensuring a successful performance. Key Responsibilities:
    • Artistic Direction: Select and direct the fall musical, ensuring alignment with the school's values, student talent, and available resources.
    • Casting & Rehearsals: Organize and conduct auditions, select the cast, and lead rehearsals while fostering a supportive and educational environment.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with the music director, choreographer, technical director, and other production staff to ensure a cohesive and high-quality performance.
    • Scheduling & Planning: Develop a rehearsal schedule that accommodates students' academic commitments while maintaining a structured and productive rehearsal process.
    • Student Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to students, helping them develop their acting, singing, and stage presence.
    • Production Management: Oversee set design, costumes, lighting, sound, and other technical aspects in coordination with the production team.
    • Communication: Maintain open communication with students, parents, administration, and staff regarding rehearsal schedules, performance dates, and production needs.
    • Budgeting & Fundraising: Manage the musical's budget and collaborate on fundraising efforts as needed.
    • Safety & Inclusivity: Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all students participating in the production.
    • Skills & Abilities:
      • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
      • Knowledge of musical theater production, acting techniques, vocal coaching, and staging.
      • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents.
      • Experience managing rehearsals, scheduling, and coordinating technical elements of a production.
