*This role is open to bothfully remote applicants andapplicants in a commutable distance of our Atlanta, Chicago, and St. Louis offices.*

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
Business Affairs plays a critical role in ensuring legal compliance and risk management across all advertising and content productions. This role oversees talent contracts, licensing, clearance, and production guidelines while serving as a key advisor within the organization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in broadcast business affairs, talent negotiations, licensing, and content production compliance, with experience managing projects across SAG-AFTRA and non-union productions.


HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES)

Talent & Contract Management:



  • Draft, review, and negotiate talent contracts and likeness releases for both SAG-AFTRA and non-union productions, including commercials, industrials,branded content, socialand on-site activations.
  • Advise internal teams on union regulations, exemptions, and contract compliance, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Work in close collaborationwith casting agentson celebrity/influencer deals, providing contracts for and calculating fees on complex agreements.
  • Process all talent payments using Extreme Reach or client-specific payment platforms and follow up to ensure timely processing.
  • Track active talent usage terms where applicable, flagging upcoming renewals/expirations.


Legal & Business Affairs:



  • Identify potential legal and financial risks related to creative development and propose mitigation strategies to protect both the agency and clients.
  • Provide day-to-day legal and clearance guidance, including intellectual property, rights management, and content usage.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with Legal for escalated legal concerns while independently managing most clearance issues.
  • Collaborate closely with producers to advise on vendor bids,production estimates, vendor agreements.
  • Oversee production insurance for all content shoots, ensuring proper coverage and risk mitigation.
  • Manage worker's comp for 3rd party vendors when necessary.


Licensing & Compliance:



  • Manage/oversee all stock footage and stock music licenses,reviewing terms, negotiating fees, and ensuring legal protection for clients.
  • Approve all licensing agreements, maintaining compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.

HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS)



  • 8+ years of experience in Business Affairs, preferably within an advertising, broadcast, or media agency.
  • Experience navigatingSAG-AFTRA, non-union talent negotiations, andmulti-platformcontent clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of licensing agreements, production insurance, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience working with talent payment platforms.
  • Familiarity withnavigatingclient-specificproduction guidelines or experience managing high-profile brand accounts is a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, contract negotiation skills, and legal acumen.
