Business Development Director FS+ (Fund Services)

Job Description:

The individual is required to have a strong working knowledge of the operational needs of closed end PE, VC and Real Estate Funds and will use this knowledge and market network to generate pipeline and service line growth for RSM Fund Services + and tangential services offerings Nationally.

Job duties:

  • Build and maintain strong sales pipelines and forecasts associated to substantiated opportunities related to RSM Fund Services + and other applicable and tangential services.
  • Interact with professional staff to collaboratively address the needs of PE marketplace in a coordinated fashion
  • Prepare and facilitate presentations, proposals
  • Close sales, and finalize agreements with clients
  • Identify and lead a coordinated, cross functional team to pursue all aspects of Fund Services+ or perform these functions in collaboration when necessary
  • Identify and leverage key industry and technical resources to deploy on new opportunities
  • Drive overall expansion and penetration of Fund Services + and all priority PE clients and targets while retaining current engagements
  • Understand the operational needs of a PE firm
  • Work collaboratively with other RSM professional to deliver the full power of RSM

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience with demonstrated success in selling professional services
  • Prior success consultative selling for a consulting or accounting firm strongly preferred
  • Prior private equity knowledge and/or experience
  • Demonstrated network of COI's (Centers of Influence) to include banking, legal and other professional services relationships that could be leveraged to identify opportunities within private equity firms
  • Demonstrated strategic thought process, experience and deployment capabilities
  • Outstanding relationship management skills and personal networking skills
  • Demonstrated strong verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate in writing
  • Strong presentation skills. Candidate must demonstrate ability to organize and lead a meeting with C-level executives
  • Strong organizational skills and attentiveness to detail. Candidate must be able to prioritize and multi-task in an outcome-oriented environment
  • Project management. Candidate must demonstrate ability to manage time, multi-task and meet deadlines, as well as possess strong creative problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Teamwork. Candidate must demonstrate experience in working as a productive member of a team
  • Tangible and demonstrated experience in formal sales process deployment and use
  • Experience leveraging a CRM tool for report generation and sales tracking
  • Travel is required (local and overnight when appropriate).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA
  • Active network of private equity contacts an in COI in and around West or East Coast and the surrounding markets.
  • Demonstrated community involvement and activity with industry associations, civic and/or non-profit groups.
  • Exhibit exceptionally strong communication, presentation, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Experience selling services into PE firms

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $100,000 - $300,000

Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
