The Materials Manager is responsible for managing inventory, cycle counts, material/usage variances, annual physical inventory, purchasing, planning, receiving, and shipping functions. Materials Manager directs and coordinates the day-to-day activities involved with factory scheduling, inventory control, production reporting, procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, commercial components, and consumable goods in a cost effective, expeditious manner. In addition, this position is responsible for the Inventory Control, Sub-assembly scheduling, Shipping and Receiving personnel. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Directs buyers, inventory control, production reporting, sub assembly schedule, shipping and receiving functions Directs production planning and develops schedules based on the master SIOP demand plan Ensures the factory schedule is designed to maximize operational efficiencies. Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time delivery and relevant KPI's (i.e. turns, DIOH) Maintains inventory accuracy through improved production reporting processes, cycle count programs and corrective actions Determine optimal inventory requirements for raw materials to purchase for plant requirements (develop PFEP) Responsible for launching and maintaining programs directed by The Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain and Supplier Quality teams Collaborates with product line design authorities/engineers on the planning and forecasting of customer orders and/or new product launches Work with supply chain, production team members and suppliers to implement lean principles (EOS) including Kanban, MMF, consignment inventory, VMI, MRP accuracy, continuous flow, standard work, inventory accuracy (all classes), MMOG/LE assessments and logistic improvements while eliminating stock outs on product lines. Establishes procedures and conducts the annual physical inventory and associated external audits Maintain supplier scorecards and forecasts. Review SIOP demand plan and/or forecasted budget plan and ensures we have proper stocking levels in place globally Establish and monitor min/max/reorder points for raw materials Ensure we are meeting minimum order volumes and achieving highest rebate levels possible on contract parts Qualifications
