Overview

NV5 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Health Physicist to join our team of professional health physics consultants and trainers within the legacy Dade Moeller & Associates business unit. As a leading provider of radiation safety training services, the successful applicant will have the unique opportunity to become an integral part of both the NV5 Training Academy faculty and our consulting division.

We offer a wide array of consulting opportunities that include radiation safety program audits, application preparation for new radioactive material licenses, designing final status surveys for decommissioning and license amendments, conducting radiation surveys for surface contamination and external exposure rates, providing radiation safety support for clients affected by technologically enhanced naturally occurring radioactive materials (TENORM), and participating in other diverse consulting projects on behalf of our valued public and private sector clients.

In this role, you can expect a flexible work location, with the potential for a hybrid in-office/remote schedule or the option to work 100 percent remotely, depending on your location. Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

    Present engaging and informative portions of our radiation safety training courses in virtual training rooms, client sites, and our state-of-the-art training center located at the NV5 corporate office in Hollywood, Florida.
  • Work on a wide variety of radiation safety-related consulting projects, both in the field and office-based, leveraging your technical expertise to provide exceptional solutions to our clients.
  • Proactively identify and develop proposals for new consulting opportunities, contributing to the growth and success of our consulting division.
  • Stay updated on evolving requirements and industry trends, continuously expanding your knowledge to better serve our clients and ensure compliance with the latest regulations.
  • Review and interpret upcoming regulations, identifying future client needs and emerging market opportunities to stay at the forefront of the industry.


Qualifications

REQUIRED Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a technical field related to health physics or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • 10+ years of technical and programmatic radiation safety experience, showcasing your mastery in the field.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and excellent interpersonal abilities to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, especially Word, Excel, Teams, WebEx, and Power Point, enabling efficient collaboration and presentation.
  • Goal-oriented and high-energy leader with a strategic vision, capable of driving projects to successful completion.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, fostering a supportive team environment to achieve common goals.

DESIRED Qualifications:

  • Certification by the American Board of Health Physics (CHP), reflecting your commitment to professional excellence.
  • Graduate degree in health physics or related discipline, showcasing your dedication to continuous learning and advanced expertise.
  • Experience as a consultant, including business development and proposal writing, to contribute to the growth of our consulting division.
  • Experience managing professional technical staff, highlighting your leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Project management experience, demonstrating your ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Well-established professional contacts in relevant industries, facilitating client engagement and business development.
