Operations Specialist NRI Shelter (Full Time)

Position Summary:


  • Maintain general operations and structure of the shelter.
  • Do routine rounds of the facility and monitor any safety concerns.
  • Ensure general safety of the residents by ensuring the building structure is properly cared for and maintained.
  • Responsible for resident's transportation.
  • Assist staff in completing room checks, setting up breakfast and lunch for the residents.
  • Complete at least 4 circuits of the property for each shift and record any potential issues.
  • Responsible for clearing belongings of vacant rooms Respond to resident concerns regarding conflicts/behaviors amongst residents (provide concern form if needed).
  • Attend quarterly staff meetings.
  • Attend required trainings.
  • Handle all client information confidentially and with respect.
  • Any duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Reports to: Northern RI Shelter Manager

Education and training required: High School diploma or equivalency. Experience in related field preferred.

Working conditions: Ability to climb stairs; Valid driver's license.
