Overview

Part-time management of Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) administrative duties including scheduling and coordinating all activities related to Medical Spanish Lunch and Learns (booking rooms, ordering food, placing procurements) processing student reimbursements for health fairs, scheduling and attending health fairs, managing student travel and travel reimbursements for health fairs or community meetings, schedule and coordinate events, and other duties as assigned related to specific initiatives and services as advised by the CEL department.

This is a wage, temporary position (working less than 20 hours per week).



Responsibilities

    Develops a comprehensive event strategy for all Medical Spanish events
  • Responsible for coordinating all volunteers and overseeing any day-of workers and staff
  • Support Medical Spanish facilitators, co-facilitator, teacher in their operations
  • Promote all events for the widest exposure through marketing strategy and community relationships
  • Organize and attend community health fairs from start to finish with preparation work, maintaining and checking on equipment, driving a large van, and packing up supplies
  • Assist in contract negotiations with service providers and suppliers such as caterers, attractions, and venues.
  • Assist in maintaining and collecting data for grant opportunities
  • Assist in developing educationally-required CEL directives
  • Maintains and updates the CEL general or initiative-specific REDCap database for participant screening and longitudinal follow-up
  • Effectively communicate with professionals within Admissions and Enrollment, Student Affairs, Medical Education, Health Professions, and the Brock Institute for Community and Global Health.
  • Order supplies and settle invoices via One Source Procurement, organize and coordinate events and provide administrative and research support to the CEL department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Project management experience is preferred. Spanish language is preferred but not required.
