Overview

The Assistant Vice President, Treasury leads and manages a team of Treasury professionals that is charged with meeting the strategic, operational, and day-to-day objectives. Responsible for leading and executing a variety of treasury and financial functions including liquidity and FX risk management, payments, maintaining relationships with banks, and ensuring compliance with Treasury policies, procedures and goals. Additionally, the Assistant Vice President is involved in assessing, recommending and implementing products, services, technologies and systems that are available and appropriate for Treasury. The Assistant Vice President partners with business leaders to ensure department needs are met and maintains a strong understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.



Responsibilities

    Leads a team of Treasury professionals, including but not limited to the following activities: makes recommendations and decisions for hiring, termination, promotion and transfers, assessing and completing performance appraisals, responsibility/workload allocations and task completion, employee engagement, succession planning and talent development, problem identification and resolution and other day-to-day people management and leadership responsibilities.
  • Develops and implements policies, procedures and operational controls and standards in order to improve operational efficiency of Treasury as well as other departments within the Company.
  • Establishes best practices and sound controls for treasury functions, including TMS.
  • Ensures Treasury functions and processes are integrated effectively into the Company's processes, procedures and policies to meet established business needs and goals.
  • Coaches and motivates staff to continuously provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Monitors daily cash position and overall liquidity position, including bank and custody accounts utilizing a TMS (Treasury Management System).
  • Oversees development and utilization of cash forecasting in TMS.
  • Monitors bank account usage and recommends usage, opening and closing of said accounts.
  • Releases electronic funds transfers to ensure wire transfers occur within established timelines and an expert in payment strategies.
  • Coordinates optimal funding of bank accounts including necessary short-term borrowing and short-term investing.
  • Provides oversight for security administration of access to TMS and user permissions and access.
  • Supports the Treasury team and/or other departments on an as needed basis.
  • Actively participates and contributes to the goals and objectives of the Company by working collaboratively and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Keeps current with market trends and demands.
  • Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required:

* Bachelor's Degree Required

* Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation a plus

* Minimum of 10 years of treasury experience required.

* Minimum of 6 years of experience in a managerial AND/OR leadership role required.

* Excellent oral, written, listening and presentation skills and ability to clearly articulate complex information.

* Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and solve problems and issues of all types.

* Ability to establish positive relationships and work effectively with all departments and affiliates to ensure integration of strategic goals and principles.

* Demonstrated ability to utilize technology to work more efficiently and more productively and as an auditing tool.

* Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

* Ability to quickly learn new technology systems and software.

* Superior judgment regarding decisions that potentially impact multiple departments and external operating groups.

* Ability to make sound decisions concerning numerous ongoing regular responsibilities and special projects with regard to priority, project assignments.

* Ability to retain and apply a wide range of confidential and proprietary information in order to protect the privacy of customers, clients and the intellectual property of the company.

* Ability to influence and/or mentor team members within the Finance function.

* Must possess a high degree of accountability and ownership for deliverables.

* Ability to effectively plan, prioritize and forecast department goals, objectives and deliverables.

* Ability to ensure alignment between strategy and operations.

* Ability to work independently and manage a team in order to execute strategic initiatives.

* Demonstrated success in process improvements.

* Ability to accurately analyze, summarize and forecast complex financial data.

* Advanced knowledge and use of applications including general ledger systems and other accounting/financial applications.

The salary range for this role is $180,000 - $215,000/year. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future.
