$92,206.40 - $191,505.60 Job Responsibilities

The Assistant Director, Pharmacy Services is responsible for assisting and supporting the Senior Director of Pharmacy in the effective and efficient operation of AON Pharmacy clinical staff. To achieve this, the position supports the Sr Director of Pharmacy in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the safe, effective and efficient processing of prescriptions and counseling and monitoring patients. In addition, the incumbent will provide guidance to the clinics and cross- functional groups (i.e., Procurement, Drug Automation, Billing, Rev. Cycle, Human Resources, etc..) for projects being managed by the Pharmacy department. Support mergers/acquisitions transitions and auditing of clinics. The assistant director establishes standards of productivity and performance in accordance with AON policies and procedures and ensures compliance to the State and Federal rules and regulations.

Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of role, relevant regulations, and organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Performs all duties in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.

Key Performance Areas

KPA 1 - Development, Implementation, and Maintain Pharmacy SOPs and Programs

  • Development, implement, and interpretation of pharmacy policies and procedures

  • Monitor compliance to pharmacy policies and procedures.

  • Investigates and resolves issues on behalf of the Senior director of pharmacy.

  • Provide continual evaluation of processes and procedures. Responsible for suggesting methods to improve operations and processes.

  • Ensure familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the pharmacy industry are kept up to date (NIOSH, OSHA, and other state federal/standards, if applicable)

  • Provide guidance to pharmacy training program members and pharmacy quality assurance initiatives

KPA 2 - Development and Implementation of Clinical Services

  • Develop and implement compliance programs

  • Develop and implement clinical content for efficient counseling use by staff

  • Monitors clinical pharmacists and nurses for operational efficiencies

  • Monitors compliance with manufacturer REMS programs

  • Assists the compliance team and the Sr Director of pharmacy in preparation and management of re-accreditations

  • Chairs over Clinical Team meetings and attends P&T meetings, providing clinical guidance on oral therapies.

KPA 3 - Provide Technical and Operational Guidance to Clinic Management

  • Provide consultation to senior management on compliance measures and accountabilities.

  • Responsible for maintaining pharmacy staffing and training reports related to pharmacy competency testing, both knowledge-based testing and practical assessments.

  • Keeps Sr. Director of Pharmacy and other members of senior management promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action.

  • Work with local management and senior leadership in address pharmacy personnel issues

KPA 4 - Managerial Duties and Responsibilities

  • Incumbent has authority to approve time and expense allocations to administration and make decisions within established precedents or well-defined policy with regular managerial direction and review.

  • Interface with management to ensure smooth flow of work through department.

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

  • Approve time-off requests in a fair manner while ensuring adequate staff to maintain work productivity

  • Participate in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual planning process as appropriate.

KPA 5 - Executes Effective Operational Transitions

  • Provides pharmacy leadership during mergers and business transitions

  • Provides clinic staff training where appropriate

  • Assists Practice Engagement Team to provide superior customer service pre and post go live.

  • Works with other members of the corporate team to ensure transitions that are successful and cost-effective.

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Position Qualifications/Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or PharmD required.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Active, unrestricted Pharmacist permit with Florida Department of Health.

  • Valid state Driver's License for travel. Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.

Previous Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years of pharmacy working experience

  • Minimum 5 years management experience in pharmacy management, retail or outpatient settings

Computer Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
