is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment.
We have operations into a newly renovated 300,000 sq. foot facility that will foster our continued growth as we continue to be recognized as the undisputed leaders in our industry.
As a result of our expansion, we are looking for a Quality Director to join our growing team.
As the Quality Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the quality assurance and control processes within the organization. Your role will involve controlling and maintaining a well-developed QMS as well as developing and implementing new quality control policies, procedures, and standards to ensure that our products meet the highest quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: Lead and mentor the industry leading quality control team across multiple facilities, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Policy: Develop, implement and improve quality control policies, procedures, and standards.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality assurance process, including inspections, testing, and significant internal, external and stakeholder auditing.
- Data Analysis: Analyze quality control data to identify trends and areas for improvement and perform data driven decision making.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to integrate quality control processes throughout the organization. Adapting and overcoming challenges in a fast paced, dynamic work environment to ensure that production goals are met alongside quality requirements.
- Reporting: Prepare and present quality control reports to senior management.
- Training: Develop and conduct training programs for staff on quality control practices.
- Corrective and Preventative Action: Determine Root Cause for deficiencies and develop preventative and corrective actions.
- Customer: Meet customer expectations including auditing, compliance with customer requested standards, reporting and additional needs as they arise.
- Hands-on: Ability to roll-up sleeves, step in and assist the quality team and operations.
Qualifications
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions based on common sense and technical expertise. Work as part of a team to determine and define the solution. Provide clear and concise reporting on findings and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations and standards (e.g. ISO 9001).
- Demonstrated expertise in quality management systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis and methodologies.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in quality management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance in a manufacturing field, including experience in a managerial or director role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Quality Management or a related field.
- Certification in quality control (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001, ASQ).
- Experience in a similar industry or field.
