Position Responsibilities

The Staff Consultant is a member of a select consulting team committed to a program at Deltek for our Costpoint product. Within this entry-level program, you will focus on training for Costpoint implementation projects. As a Staff Consultant, Deltek will provide you with extensive training on Deltek products, consulting best practices, and the implementation process, as well as mentorship and shadowing of senior team members. This is a revenue generating position with individual performance results tied to utilization and other internal and external performance metrics.

As a Staff Consultant, you will:

  • Gain a strong understanding of Costpoint and how to successfully implement the ERP for clients.

  • Assist Deltek clients with implementation services to successfully transition from legacy accounting systems through configuration and setup of Costpoint.

  • Understand industry accounting principles and their application to the Deltek Costpoint product line.

  • Present essential concepts of Costpoint to internal and external stakeholders via in-person and virtual meetings.

  • Mature through the Staff Consultant program to learn how to make recommendations for business process workflow design or re-design to clients.

  • Configure and test client databases, create documentation, and apply DPS best practice consulting methods and processes.

  • Shadow senior consultants to learn how to engage with clients.

  • Work within budget and time frame requirements to complete client deliverables.

  • Use problem solving skills to resolve customer concerns/issues.

  • Leverage Microsoft Suite to assist with client implementations.

  • Display excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to travel when necessary.

Qualifications


  • Due to the nature of work being performed in this role, US Citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience accepted.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • ERP software knowledge is not required but beneficial and consulting experience is not required but beneficial.

  • Beginning to intermediate understanding of, or experience with, accounting principles, project cost accounting, human resource management, information technology, or project management.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced,learning, hands-on environment.

  • Excited to learn new technologies andprocesses.

  • Works collaboratively in a teamenvironment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to adapt to varying situations and personalities.

  • Self-motivated and proactive team member, who will utilize time efficiently, share knowledge, and be receptive to others' ideas.

  • Strong will to be inquisitive and learn.

  • Ability to commute to Herndon VA.

  • Ability to travel when necessary.

Computer Skills:

  • Software knowledge should include MS Office Suite.

  • Any Windows-based accounting experience is beneficial.

  • Has advanced computer skills including the ability to enter database information, create presentations, and preserve/backup important data.

Compensation Information

The U.S. salary range for this position is $47500.00 - $83000.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
