Under general direction of the Campus Director of Employee Relations(ELR), provide assistance on matters that are confidential, sensitive and complex and which require a high level of analytical skill, attention to detail, independent judgment, initiative, and a high degree of professionalism. Act as the primary coordinator for the Abusive Conduct in the Workplace Policy process which includes oversight of case intake, initial review, assignment, tracking, communication, investigation finalization, drafting and maintaining standard operating procedures and reporting. Independently responsible for management of the Campus & Health System Unemployment Insurance Program, including all aspects of claim administration, problem assessment and investigation. Provide analytical support to Employee Relations Director on important campus issues and coordinate the organization and implementation of broad ELR strategies across the campuses. Analyze and produce a variety of statistical reports related to employee and labor relations cases. Provide confidential professional support for complex and sensitive personnel matters and settlements as well as collective bargaining processes and advisory committees Responsible for special projects as assigned related to Employee Relations campus matters. Assist with management of ELR's internal and external communications on policy matters requiring action/execution/resolution. Provide technical assistance, special projects support, and administrative support to the unit. Independently performs data extraction, research and analysis of information relating to union requests, department metrics, diversity, bargaining, corrective action and layoff status.

- Bachelor's degree, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Experience applying policies and procedures and labor contracts to resolve employee relations or other human resources issues.
- Experience providing timely and effective project management and analytical support for multiple simultaneous projects, including preparing and analyzing reports.
- Analytical skills to research and evaluate complex issues and problems, including the review of policies and procedures and data to independently develop and apply effective recommendations and solutions.
- Organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects employing broad skills, managing multiple priorities and produce results with varying deadlines.
- Interpersonal skills to work cooperatively and communicate effectively orally and in writing with all levels of the campus community, system-wide, and with outside professionals.
- Technical skills to effectively utilize and learn innovative computer programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Human Resources and/or Employer Relations. Experience working with HRIS and other platforms supporting HR processes and ability to master new applications as they become available.
- Knowledge of University of California system-wide personnel policies and procedures, and the negotiated agreements and labor contracts with UC.
- Ability to operate proactively and strategically partner with others to find creative solutions.
- Skill in working collaboratively with team members to complete project tasks.Ability to build relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
