Responsibilities:



  • Ensure timely and accurate tax provision and financial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
  • Oversee the preparation and review necessary tax returns, including corporate, partnership, sales and use, personal property for various state and local jurisdictions
  • Manage tax audits and other related inquiries from tax authorities
  • Develop, maintain, and reconcile tax records for Alta's consolidating entities.
  • Provide guidance and support to the accounting team on all tax-related matters
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities for the organization
  • Assist with tax planning and forecasting
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and adjust strategies accordingly


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax preparation (multi-national tax experience preferred)
  • Strong, current understanding of US GAAP (specifically ASC 740), federal, state and local tax laws and regulations and SEC reporting rules and regulations preferred.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills including ability to effectively communicate complex tax-related information to management and other stakeholders
  • Capable of leading projects and working in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding attention to detail and demonstrate a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, work cross-functionally and meet tight filing deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Cell formatting, Conditional Formatting, etc.)
  • Mathematical Skills - High: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability - High: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Physical Demands/Work Environment:



  • Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use hands, talk/hear, sit, will reach with hands and arms; Occasionally will stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Lift and/or Move Functions: Frequently will lift up to 10 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 50 pounds.
