Responsibilities

We currently have a great opportunity available for a Planner/Buyer Specialist. This position is responsible for the day-to-day inventory planning activities for the various SAI & 3PL distribution centers and responsible for the purchasing of products from both international and domestic suppliers (inclusive of Sysmex Corporation, Sysmex Reagents America, and others). Planning responsibilities also include generating and evaluating the monthly demand forecast, regular follow up and monitoring of open purchase orders, and regular analysis of inventory planning to drive continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Perform daily reviews of inventory levels at each warehouse for assigned materials to ensure safety stock levels are maintained; initiate replenishment, purchase orders or stock transfer orders as needed.
  1. Monitor open purchase orders with vendors to ensure on time delivery; work with vendors and manufacturing plants to expedite past due purchase orders. Set up and maintain purchasing master data in SAP.
  2. Generate and evaluate the monthly demand forecast for assigned materials, utilizing statistical forecasting techniques and incorporating additional forecast intelligence as needed as supported by S&OP data or sales/marketing input.
  3. Issue regular status reports and operational KPI reports, providing root cause analysis for performance exceptions.
  4. Perform planning methodology reviews on a regular basis, including but not limited to safety stock analysis, min/max analysis, etc. to ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained for each material/stocking location assigned.
  5. Maintain planning material master data within SAP for assigned materials.
  6. Evaluate, recommend and implement inventory management improvements to reduce inventory, maintain desired service levels to customers, and to improve on-time delivery to customers.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Percentage of Travel: Less than 10%



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related field required.
  • Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience with demand/supply planning in an ERP system or supply chain software system. SAP experience highly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills with excellent written and oral presentation capabilities.
  • Excellent Excel skills required. SAP experience highly preferred.
  • Collaborative skills, including strong communication ability, willingness and ability to work well with others, ability to influence others and project management skills.
  • Ability to understand MRP.
  • Must be a self-starter, self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and changing work environment and work in cross-functional teams.
  • Customer focused.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented with strong analytical ability.

The salary range for this role is $61,306 to $96,339. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The total compensation package for this position also includes a choice of health care plan (medical, vision, and dental insurance), an annual incentive bonus, paid time off, parental leave, bereavement leave and a 401(K) for all eligible employees.
