Rust Software Engineer Category: Engineer Employment Type: Contract Reference: BH-383177 Rust Software Engineer with Large Media Company 1 Year Assigment- HAS TO BE LOCAL TO SAN DIEGO- FULLY ONSITE Pay Range- $65-$97 hr w2 per hour Strong foundation in Rust (type system, generics, lifetimes, standard library, error handling) * Proficiency in at least one other language: Golang, Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript * Experience with test-driven development (unit and integration testing) * Understanding of fundamental CS concepts (data structures and algorithms) * Strong written and verbal English communication Technical Requirements * Experience working with binary protocols, encoders/decoders, or data parsers * Aptitude for understanding and implementing formal specifications * Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for complex data issues Preferred Qualifications * Experience with API design (RESTful and/or gRPC) * Networking expertise (HTTP, TCP/IP) with focus on high-performance service design * Server-side and/or frontend development experience (e.g., Vue, SvelteKit, React) * Experience with containerization and CI/CD (Docker, AWS CDK) * Familiarity with client-server architecture and web services * Knowledge of relevant industry standards and media formats * Open-source contribution experience Core Responsibilities * Build robust, scalable Rust applications following best practices * Participate in code reviews and maintain high quality standards * Solve complex technical challenges * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions Note: Any pay ranges displayed are estimations.
