Position Summary The Manager Inflight Training's key responsibilities include the delivery of flight attendant (inflight crewmember) training, managing a training budget, monitoring training outcomes, and fostering a culture of excellence while ensuring compliance with safety and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other regulatory standards. This position within JetBlue University (JBU) requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a deep understanding of the airline industry's operational needs. Essential Responsibilities
- Leads a team of supervisors and instructors, ensuring the delivery of engaging and impactful training content and maintaining a high level of employee engagement and retention.
- Stays current on industry regulations and trends to ensure compliance with all training programs.
- Partners with JBU workgroups to coordinate, plan, develop and improve all inflight regulatory programs and instructor expectations, through data analysis.
- Supervises, develops, and coaches supervisors and instructors; conducts annual performance evaluations and helps set goals for college; serves as a resource to the team in the resolution of complex problems.
- Ensures quality of product delivery through classroom observations.
- Takes a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement.
- Assists in the recruitment of new supervisors, analysts and facilitators/instructors.
- Anticipates shortand long-term requirements regarding personnel and expenditures. Provides projections to leadership while assisting with the annual budget.
- Works with other JBU managers and instructors to ensure consistency amongst the training programs, processes, and products to ensure that the programs support regulatory requirements and corporate goals.
- Partners with operational counterparts to anticipate training needs and support policy and procedures.
- Assist with the intake process of new simulators including, but not limited to, request for proposals, preliminary design reviews, critical design reviews, and acceptance.
- Evaluates the role of the team by continuously assessing contributions and actively seeking other opportunities to expand and grow.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- Five (5) years of related training and instruction experience with an airline
- Five (5) years of experience with performance management, professional development, and organizational development
- Successfully complete JetBlue Airways Inflight Training Program, including Initial Training and Annual Continuing Qualification Programsand maintain qualification and requirements
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), particularly Inflight Training related FARs and requirements
- Proven ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English
- At least twenty (20) years old
- Vision corrected to 20/20
- Must have the ability to walk comfortably down the aircraft aisle forward and backward, fit quickly through the over wing exit, and sit in the Flight Attendant jumpseat without modification
- Able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds from the floor to above the shoulders
- Able to reach six feet three inches (6'3") without shoes
- Ability to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds
- Must be able to perform safety functions at any given time, including door operation, overhead bin closure, use of galley/pantry carts, CPR, retrieval and use of emergency equipment including manual rafts, etc.
- Available for occasional overnight travel (30%)
- Currently in possession of a valid passport or equivalent travel documents to freely enter & exit all destinations where JetBlue flies. All passport holders should have a minimum of 1-year (12 months) validity remaining at the time of application (where applicable).
- Knowledge of basic computer and electronic tablet devices
- Able to read and comprehend guidance as found in required manuals
- Must be able to adhere to JetBlue Inflight Crewmember Uniform Appearance Standards
- Able to work as a team to deliver the JetBlue Experience
- Able to work varying schedules including reserve duty, weekends, evenings, holidays, and last minute drafting
- Basic knowledge of and experience with education program management, adult learning principles and curriculum development
- Experience with project management
- Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Experience in Inflight Training for a 121 airline
- Experience with Advanced Qualification Programs (AQPs)
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or related degree
- Career development and succession planning experience

- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
- Uphold JetBlue's safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
- The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.
