The Test Cell Operator is a UAW represented position. This position will be responsible for the testing and evaluation of diesel engines in a test cell environment. The starting hourly pay is $28.47 / hr.
Job Description
Test & evaluate diesel engines in test cell environment for ground combat vehicle product lines.
Interact with the internal and external customers when needed.
Work directly with support departments i.e., EHS, quality, production support engineering, design engineering, mechanical engineering, and electronic technicians on test performance.
Prep and install product for testing in test cell. Uninstall when testing is complete.
Identify and escalate test anomalies, such as leaks, abnormal noises, visual observations etc...
Troubleshoot, adjust, or replace components on products and accessories during testing process.
Perform corrective maintenance of mechanical systems as required.
Support other assignments that utilize multiple skills as needed to support production.
Participates in the cross training of other test operators, as needed, to support production requirements.
Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
Complete daily maintenance inspections and documentation of equipment and facility to ensure operational readiness prior to use.
Working with specialized mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems to test production product.
Participates in continuous improvement of cell processes.
Willingness to learn new tasks and cross train as needed to support production requirements.
Will obtain 2000 hours of on the job testing to be considered certified for this position.
All other duties as assigned.

2+ years assembly experience required
General mechanic knowledge required. With thorough knowledge of combat vehicle diesel engines preferred.
Must have prior test cell experience.
Must have strong diagnostic skills - ability to learn and understand new concepts and applications.
Must have strong attention to detail skills - follows policies, procedures, and safety measures.
Computer skills - Should be able to demonstrate PC proficiency in MS Word and Excel as well as learn any corporate or industry software used by the position.
Must possess effective written and verbal communications skills.
