Position Overview


Primary Purpose of Position
This position will analyzing patient charts and other data to identify ways to improve processes within the Alvin V. Blount Student Health Center. The nurse will lead infection control & prevention practices, risk management, accreditation, & risk management.
In the absence of the nurse supervisor, the quality improvement nurse will play a part in coordinating patient care and management of the health clinic. The QI nurse may also work PRN in the clinic as needed.

The Quality Improvement nurses must remember patient needs, including those of their cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, and keep these aspects in mind as they develop new strategies. The QI Nurse will collaborate with all members of the healthcare team as they develop new guidelines.
The quality improvement nurses must have a system in place to track the success of any changes or new policies implemented.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Mission of the Student Health Center is to provide patient centered, holistic health care services to the students of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University.

Our services are rendered in accordance with evidence-based practices and medical guidelines which help to improve the students' physical and mental well-being. Through our care, we aim to prevent or reduce student time lost from academic and extracurricular activities. Our educational programs aspire to engage our students and provide information and resources to enhance their lifestyles and reinforce behavior that will sustain them far beyond their matriculation through North Carolina A&T State University.

Our intent is to improve the quality of life for the North Carolina A&T State University community. The consummate goal of the Student Health Center is to maintain healthy students and a healthy student environment in which our students can achieve their educational goals.
Minimum Requirements
Master Degree in Nursing
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
3-5 years if Quality Improvement experience
Required License or Certification
Is this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. On-site (Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on-site)
