Job Overview

Perform a variety of operational activities related to the treasury function supporting treasury management. The Treasurer's Office has responsibility for banking and cash management, short-term investment and liquidity management, credit card and PCI compliance, endowment and short-term investment accounting and pool processing, the Tax department, Debt Management, Accounts Payable and oversight of third-party accounts receivables.

Essential Functions

  • Perform daily cash operation functions, including but not limited to entering wires/ACHs, timely reconciliation of cash applications/disbursements, balancing previous day cash, setting daily cash position, executing cash concentrations, reporting control totals, executing positive pay, assisting with BAI file uploads, clearing exception accounts, and researching bank account reconciliation items.
  • Provide support to internal and external customers as it relates to treasury operations.
  • Assist with data collection, management, and analysis across multiple sources to enhance the treasury department's reporting capabilities. This includes organizing and analyzing data for cash forecasting, treasury dashboard and tracking of other operational activities.
  • Cross-train with analysts and others responsible for daily third-party accounts receivables functions and provide back-up support regularly.
  • Responsible for the management and coordination of certain Accounts Payable responsibilities including, but not limited to the review and reconciliation of complex payment issues and requests and 1099 tax filing procedures and reporting.
  • Prepare and upload journal entries into the university's financial system.
  • Assist with data collection and analysis for various tax liabilities related to sales, real estate, international and other tax compliance functions.
  • Assist with preparation of continuing disclosure obligations for the University's outstanding tax-exempt debt portfolio and other debt management functions.
  • Assist with investment accounting and unitized pool processing.
  • Review departmental processes for operational efficiencies and provide recommendations to management.
  • Assist with year-end close process.
  • Recommend or present ideas/solutions/improvements to managers regarding assigned tasks and projects.
  • Support other treasury activities and functions, as directed.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree must be in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration or related field.
  • Eight (8) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.


Required Experience

  • Four (4) years of experience in investment accounting, financial analysis/modeling and operations.
  • Knowledge of and practical application of the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of treasury operations and/or PCI compliance.


Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Banking knowledge/experience.
  • Software experience including: SAP and Jaggaer/Pace.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly with intermediate to advanced Excel and or Access skills.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to create dashboards and reports.
  • Experience with data management and reporting across financial systems.
  • Resourceful.
  • Self-starter.
  • Ability to present data clearly through dashboards, reports, and visualizations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain complex data findings in a clear and actionable way.

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
