Overview

The Credit Sales & Trading Banker Senior leads the bank's private-label sales, forward flows, and secondary trades within the Capital Markets group. The Senior Banker is responsible for structuring and distributing specific portfolio sales, purchases, and trade activities. The Senior Banker exercises discretion and independent judgment in all tasks, making decisions that are critical to the bank's operations and strategy while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

The Syndications & Placement team serves as CNB's interface between the broader capital markets, loan markets, and alternative financing structures to provide additional off-balance sheet liquidity.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

    Lead the management of the Bank's credit loan sales, secondary trades, and serve as a liaison with partner issuers, both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with senior management, investors, lawyers, rating agencies, and other parties to execute loan sales and secondary transactions, including documentation negotiation, cash-flow modeling, rating agency analytics, marketing, and investor analysis.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with primary and secondary market investors (e.g., Banks, Insurance Companies, Money Managers, Hedge Funds, Asset Managers, Credit Unions, Pension Funds) for distribution purposes through activities such as roadshows, investor meetings, and other strategic engagements.
  • Negotiate the terms of credit loan sales, execute trade confirmations, and assist with the trade settlement process when necessary.
  • Collaborate with Capital Markets colleagues (Origination and Syndicate) to provide market insights, views, and intelligence, enabling informed assessments of market conditions to drive trading volume.
  • Develop and implement procedures and operational processes for the issuance of private-label sales, forward flows, secondary trades, etc., covering pricing, structuring, and distribution.
  • Generate trading ideas and opportunities for consideration by the Capital Markets team to support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and finalization of disclosures, offering prospectuses, and related documents to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Lead or participate in industry events (e.g., capital markets, asset-backed securities) to represent the bank and stay informed on market developments.
  • Stay informed about market conditions, issuance trends, and structuring details of comparable trades to ensure the bank remains competitive.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in secondary sales, securitizations, issuances, and disclosures, providing guidance and expertise across these areas.


Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of proven experience in handling complex structured credit transactions, structured trading, and asset-backed product securitization at a large financial institution, private equity firm, or asset management firm.
  • 5-7 years of demonstrated expertise in negotiating financial documentation, cash-flow modeling, rating agency analytics, and building investor relationships while executing loan sales, secondary trades, and securitizations.
  • Experience with financial market sales.

  • Deep understanding of credit trading documentation.

  • Strong understanding of rating agency methodologies.

  • Ability to establish and maintain investor distribution channels.

  • Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills.

  • Knowledge of capital markets, asset-backed securities, and related regulatory frameworks.

  • Experience with ClearPar and Bloomberg.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with investors and financial partners.

  • Familiarity with marketing materials, cash-flow modeling, and look-through analysis.

  • Strong negotiation skills in transaction and sales agreements.

  • Ability to analyze market intelligence and trends.

  • Familiarity with risk management techniques related to credit trading.

  • Attention to detail in documentation and financial models.

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements in capital markets.



Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
