The Senior Data Engineer designs, develops, and supports solutions to transport, store, and analyze Press Ganey's healthcare data.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Evolve and mature our enterprise data strategy and capabilities.
  • Create data driven solutions to meet software and data science requirements for various PG Healthcare Products.
  • Identify, evaluate, select, and prove out new technologies and toolsets.
  • Create and execute proofs of concept and proofs of technology.
  • Lead and direct work of others in data dependent projects.
  • Design, develop, implement and support multiple Azure and on premises data marts.
  • Collaborate with software development, business teams and other engineering teams on data architecture and design to establish solution requirements and design platform solutions that address current and future needs.
  • Identify and plan for future roadmap enhancements that evolve as business needs evolve.
  • Create solutions that adhere to security, retention, and availability policies for critical, sensitive healthcare data.
  • Collaborate with software development and business teams on application interface and data storage implementation to create platform solutions for real-time and batch data ingress and delivery.
  • Identify impact of solutions on other applications and databases.
  • Adhere to and enhance development standards/methodologies.
  • Mentor and train Data Engineers on standards and best practices and provide targeted training and exploration for team members.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology or related field and 3 years of data engineering experience in an enterprise environment including 3 years' experience with: writing, tuning, troubleshooting complex SQL queries, Python code, and C#; Azure Databricks and Delta Lake using Data Factory, Azure SQL databases, and on-premises Microsoft tools (SQL Server DB and SSIS); and analytical solutions and data modeling in relational databases such as MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Azure SQL DB. Employer will also accept a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology or related field and 5 years of data engineering experience in an enterprise environment in lieu of a master's degree and 3 years of experience.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $119,808 to $172,000 per year. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
