Position accountabilities:

The Senior Manager Track will ensure safe, reliable infrastructure and cost-effective engineering services to permit the safe and efficient train operations. They will directly provide or ensure professional oversight and compliance with policy and regulatory engineering standards.

Position accountabilities:

  • Direct, coordinate, and/or implement emergency response to service interruptions for geographical territory and maintains/drives seasonal plans related to winter, spring/flood, and fire
  • Implement work in a manner aligned with union labor agreements
  • Accountable for current year execution and provides information/recommendations for annual/multiyear capital planning priorities
  • Deliver specified safety, compliance, service, and financial outputs and results expected within their geographic territory while implementing work processes changes that achieve continuous improvement
  • Accountable for the investigation of train accidents in main track and sidings, including the timely filing of cause
  • Ensures infrastructure damage costs are consistent with FRA regulations for all train accidents
  • Develop and execute annual safety plans

Position requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is helpful
  • 5 years proven experience in the maintenance railway physical plant, and good understanding of track maintenance, track renewal & structures maintenance
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Capability to develop and run a project plan/schedule
  • Ability to simultaneously handle priorities and ensure delivery of key performance metrics during emergency and non-emergency operations
  • Previous leadership experience in an operational setting
