FOX News Media is looking for a Freelance Information Specialist with a strong knowledge of current events, as well as a keen interest in politics, public affairs, and business news to join our team for a 1-year engagement. You will work closely with key members of Fox News Media, on the front lines of breaking news, to research context for Fox's record-breaking evening and early-morning shows. Meeting deadlines, editorial awareness, and a deep interest in the news of the day is paramount.

We are looking for an individual who is flexible, with a remarkable work ethic. You will work closely with Brainroom Information Specialist staff, as well as producers, reporters, and other Fox News Media units to integrate our meticulous coverage throughout all Fox News Media platforms.

This flexible, 3-day-a-week role is a rare launchpad opportunity at America's most-watched news network.

You will be offered the following shift:

Sundays, 9:00 AM ET - 5:00 PM ET

Two other optional days

Applicants should be available to work afternoons, evenings, and Sundays.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Retrieve, analyze, and confirm the facts, statistics, and contacts making headlines

  • Produce briefing books and news backgrounders for reporters and producers

  • Assist with the research underpinning special projects and planned events like Congressional hearings, elections, and town halls

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 1-2 years of experience in: a research role; or, strong internships in professional live news, political, or legal environments

  • Strong knowledge of politics

  • Passion for research, current events, and business

  • Ability to juggle multiple assignments under tight deadlines

  • Openness to working a flexible schedule, including regular weekend hours, evenings, and occasional holidays

  • Familiarity with Lexis-Nexis, Factiva, Accurint, and strong sourcing

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
