Student Intern - Treasury

Summary:

A meaningful educational experience for a college student to gain valuable experience in their field of study; while accomplishing tasks and completing projects in an enriching environment. The Intern will gain networking opportunities that include interactions with CHRISTUS leaders and Associates. The Intern will be provided with a variety of projects to support learning objectives in Treasury to include the following areas: Cash Management, Investments and Debt Financing.

Responsibilities:


  • Learn about all areas of Treasury through observation.
  • Engage in special projects as needed by Treasury Department.
  • Cash ManagementInvestments
  • Debt Financing

Cash Management


  • Assist with preparing various cash reports.
  • Assist with maintenance of cash management procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist with gathering data for Safe Connect project

Investments


  • Assist with completion of the daily report summarizing investment and cash balances from the previous day for distribution to CHRISTUS Health executive team.

Debt Financing


  • Assist with completion of wire transfer requests and check requests for bond fund related activity, including but not limited to, interest and principal payments, letter of credit and remarketing fees, swap payments and other related fees.

Requirements:

Experience:


  • At lease 2 years of college preparation towards major.

Education:


  • Currently enrolled in a College degree program in one of the following degree program: Finance, Business Administration or related field
  • PC and Microsoft Office Skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work with others.
  • Quick learner with attention to detail, high degree of confidentiality and solid organizational skills.
  • Needs to be resourceful, innovative and persuasive with ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
