Overview
SCCI is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our BMS support team. The successful candidate will apply robust systems engineering processes, work closely with the customer and end-users to develop requirements and participate in building the systems associated with a weapon control system. This position will interface with other engineering functional areas (i.e. Software Engineering, Test, Configuration Management, Training, and Safety) and technical personnel from various external organizations to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and develop and document final solutions. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA. Responsibilities:
- Working collaboratively with multiple technical teams (Information Assurance, Engineering, Testing, Configuration Management, Training) in a rapid development framework using an agile approach
- Coding weapon controls and integrations for the improvement of existing system baselines and the integration of new technologies for future planned baselines
- Proposing and demonstrating technical approaches in alignment with military standards and specifications
- Working multiple projects at once and managing priorities while communicating successes and challenges with the integrated technical team
- Debugging and conducting root cause analysis for system anomalies observed in fielded and development systems
- Adhering to prescribed configuration management for all coding
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) STEM degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
- Three (3) years professional technical experience
- Two (2) years of experience performing system analysis for requirements definition, system design parameters, concepts operation, risk assessment, performance analyses, or test and evaluation
- Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing range/field environment
- Ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnel
- Ability to define task details, estimates, and schedules
- Ability to work with others to meet established goals and program schedules
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and applications (including Cameo Systems Modeler) is desired
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience writing front end software for Windows and Android a plus
- Experience developing desktop applications using Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) a plus
- Experience working with PAR Government Tactical Assault Kit/Team Awareness Kit (TAK) Mapping Products (ATAK, WinTAK, VTAK) a plus
- Familiarity with Software Source Control Products: Team Foundation Server (TFS), Git, or Bitbucket
