Description

Clark College is currently accepting applications for two full-time, permanent classified Information Technology (IT) Customer Support - Entry positions to join our IT Customer Support team. As vital members of the IT Client Services division, these roles provide crucial technical assistance to Clark College faculty and staff. Key duties include delivering exceptional, customer-centered IT support, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, responding to help desk inquiries, and collaborating with IT colleagues to enhance the college's media technology. These positions also offer the opportunity to participate in various technology-related projects. Join us in creating a seamless and dependable IT experience for our campus community! Position Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support and maintenance for audio-visual (AV) and multimedia equipment in classrooms, lecture halls, and event spaces across all campuses. This includes troubleshooting, repairing, and ensuring the proper functioning of projectors, sound systems, and recording devices.
  • Install, configure, and test new multimedia systems and equipment for classrooms, labs, and events.
  • Respond to help desk requests via phone, email, or in person, documenting and tracking issues through the college's ticketing system.
  • Assist faculty, staff, and students in using media and AV equipment, offering guidance on how to effectively operate systems for classroom presentations, meetings, and events. Provide training sessions or documentation as needed.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer workstations, printers, and software applications for classrooms, labs, and administrative offices.
  • Implement and support security protocols, such as software updates, virus protection, and user access controls, to safeguard college systems.
  • Assist with managing the IT inventory system.
  • Create a safe, bias-free working environment, which engenders respect for differences.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

  • Associate degree in a computer related field or equivalent related work experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience answering technical assistance calls, logging tickets, and walking clients through technical issues.
  • Two (2) years of experience repairing, diagnosing and troubleshooting computers, software, and peripherals (printers, monitors, scanners) in a network environment.
  • Must possess a current valid driver's license.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation.
  • This position is represented by Washington Public Employees Association.

SALARY/BENEFITS:

Salary Range: $5,096 - $6,856/month | Step A-M (commensurate with qualifications and experience) | Range: 01IT | Code: 482CS

Successful candidates typically start at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
