Overview
The Director of Security will oversee the security operations for VTG, ensuring the protection of personnel, assets, and classified information. This individual will lead security-related strategic planning, policy development, customer relations, and implementation of comprehensive security programs tailored to the unique demands of the company. This individual will also lead the build-out and management of all company-operated sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIFs), SIPRNet enclaves, and cleared open spaces as well as the information systems within such spaces and information system security officers and secure network system administrators responsible for installation and maintenance of these information systems. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this individual will serve as a critical advisor on all security matters and foster a culture of vigilance, compliance, and innovation. This role will be based out of VTG Headquarters in Chantilly, VA in a hybrid capacity.
What will you do?
Strategic Security Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive security strategy aligned with organizational goals and Government regulations.
- Act as the principal advisor to the executive team on security-related risks, emerging threats, and mitigation strategies.
- Represent the organization in high-level security meetings with industry partners, agencies, and oversight bodies.
Policy Development and Compliance:
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures to comply with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) standards, and other relevant regulations.
- Ensure the organization meets all requirements for personnel security, physical security, and information assurance.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
Security Management:
- Oversee industrial security (facility and personnel), physical security, cybersecurity, operational security, and workplace access programs to safeguard classified and sensitive information and critical infrastructure.
- Lead crisis management and incident response initiatives, including threat analysis, containment, and post-event evaluation.
- Manage the security clearance process and ensure ongoing eligibility for personnel requiring access to classified information.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional/high-performing security team, fostering professional growth and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Promote a culture of accountability, ethics, and continuous improvement within the security team.
- Oversee the recruitment and retention of top security talent.
Customer Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders in the IC.
- Stay informed on the latest developments in security technology, methodologies, and IC policy changes to maintain operational excellence.
Do you have what it takes?
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in security management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive security experience, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role within the IC or a related environment.
- Proven experience managing large, complex security programs across multiple sites.
- Extensive knowledge of IC security policies, procedures, and classified information handling.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and physical security systems.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage crises and respond effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in leveraging data analytics to inform security strategies and decision-making.
Desired:
- An advanced degree in security management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in security-related disciplines (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP).
- Familiarity with emerging security technologies and trends in the IC.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and international partners.
