Scope of Work: This role is focused on driving growth and expanding our Aviation business unit by actively managing the business development (BD) pipeline and strategically capturing new opportunities. Leverage operational experience to support growth efforts, working closely with internal teams to ensure the successful execution of contracts and identifying key customer needs. This position requires a hands-on approach to both business development and operational management, ensuring the seamless integration of capture to program execution. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to grow and maintain a healthy pipeline of aviation-related opportunities, collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams to target and win new contracts.
- Lead efforts to identify and capture new business opportunities within the aviation sector by building relationships, targeting key prospects, and collaborating with proposal teams to develop winning strategies, including pricing, proposal development, and strategic positioning, ensuring alignment with customer objectives and company strengths throughout the capture process.
- Foster and strengthen relationships with key customers in the aviation industry, ensuring alignment on project requirements, milestones, and ongoing customer needs. Address client concerns proactively and maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Provide operational insight and guidance to ensure successful execution of aviation contracts, promoting cross-departmental integration for smooth transitions and operational efficiency. Mentor teams, foster a high-performance culture, and develop strategic direction to drive customer engagement, program success, and business growth.
- Support financial management of contracts by planning, budgeting, and tracking resource costs, team development expenses, and ensuring alignment with revenue and profit goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience (service and aviation industry experience may be considered in lieu of degree); This requirement may be waived for candidates who have significant experience in similar positions or that possess unique skills.
- Program & Project Management - Extensive experience managing technical and operational programs, ensuring successful execution and delivery, with a strong focus on optimizing service delivery within large-scale contracts.
- Business Development - Demonstrated success in driving growth by expanding business with existing clients and securing new opportunities.
- Government Contracting - Extensive experience in contract project management, including ensuring compliance and executing complex service contracts. Strong background in working within military settings or with military clients.
- Functional & Technical Expertise - In-depth knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and technical processes essential for successful execution.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to company values, ethical standards, and continuous learning; proficient in managing teams, projects, and fostering a positive, customer-oriented environment.
- Current Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred. Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- Advanced computer proficiency and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and analyze data to drive decision-making and optimize processes.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Must be able to maintain ability to access worksite location to include various military installations and airports to meet customer operational requirements.
- Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license to operate a company vehicle.
- Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Travel required up to 25%
- Traditional office setting with a primarily desk-based role involving prolonged sitting for extended periods while and occasional standing, walking, and movement.
- Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements of the customer to include weekends and holidays.
