Job Description

University of Missouri Ethics, Compliance, and Audit Services (ECAS) is an evolving and growing central services function for the four universities and health system of the University of Missouri. Our mission is to partner with leadership to preserve and create value consistent with the vision and direction of the university through internal audit, compliance, and investigative work.

The position of Compliance Analyst provides support to the areas of privacy and compliance and will be responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and other tools to further the effectiveness and enforcement efforts of the team. The Compliance Analyst will be supporting the universities through research of data privacy, and other applicable state, federal, and international regulations. Cataloging regulatory changes, maintaining an updated reference, and communicating changes to the correct divisions within UM System will be a key function of this position. The Compliance Analyst provides support, as necessary, in the investigation and tracking of data breaches and privacy violations, and safeguarding efforts to prevent future breaches.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist the ECAS office in assuring compliance with federal and state privacy regulations.
* Support investigations around privacy and compliance concerns.
* Develop and implement new tools, including policy matrices to support regulatory compliance and privacy functions.
* Contribute to the drafting of templates, data protection addenda, privacy statements, consent forms, policies, and procedures as well as other related documents for data protection governance and accountability.
* Collaborate closely with members of the UM System, Office of the General Counsel and IT teams, to further develop privacy templates and playbooks ensuring continued privacy compliance across operations.
* Examine policies and practices within the system for areas of risk or noncompliance.
* Participate in cross-functional initiatives as directed within Ethics, Compliance, and Audit Services.
* Assess regulatory change activity and the impact to the organization to include existing and emerging risks.
* Assist in the preparation and development of compliance reports.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8-5pm

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous higher education work experience
* Strong organizational, investigative, research, project management, and problem-solving skills

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $51,875 - $70,000 per year
Grade: GGS-9E
