What is the Opportunity?

Position reports to the US Governance Risk and Controls (GRC) Office and is responsible for supporting the Head of the US GRC Office and the US GRC Operations team. US GRC Operations provides operational support across the GRC Office, including Execution, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Control, and Technology Platform. Interfaces with organizations across RBC, including Finance, Procurement, Risk, Compliance, Operations and Technology& Innovation, and other key support functions across the RBC US Enterprise.

Be part of RBC's U.S. Governance, Risk and Controls (GRC) Office. This group's focus is on enhancing our risk management and regulatory compliance capabilities to ensure the bank is well-positioned for future opportunity and sustainable growth. Headquartered in the United States. By evaluating and understanding the organization's needs, the team delivers specialized service and industry-specific expertise to help the US organization be compliant with industry regulations and requirements.

What will you do?

  • Strategic Initiatives - lead or a play a significant role in guiding and supporting strategic initiatives; including strategic planning with senior management and executing key initiatives aligning with the strategic goals of the GRC Office.

  • Communications - manage streamlined communications across various departments, develop, edit, and maintain communications materials, and coordinate communications in support of the GRC Office. This may include updates to the SteerCo, Board Members, and other stakeholders internal and external to the organization.

  • Decision Support - provide data, documentation, presentations to support strategic decisions or key initiatives of the Office.

  • Financial Literacy - ability to read and understand financials related to the GRC Office to support relevant communications related to budget and/or financials.

  • Stakeholder Management - communicate effectively (verbal and written) across all levels of management to include executives and external stakeholders.

  • Balance and influence multiple competing priorities and teams by providing oversight and guidance to actions of high importance; and creating and maintaining cross-organizational relationships to enable success.

  • Meeting Support and Facilitation - Facilitate meeting coordination across various departments and stakeholders, support meeting preparation, to include material preparation and data gathering, and manage meeting outcomes.

  • All other appropriate duties as required.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree Preferred.

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in strategic consulting, preferably with a large firm with exposure to financial services / banking industry.

  • Track record of delivering strategic consulting and execution at an Enterprise level.

  • High-value personal qualities - critical thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to influence, work in teams, resourceful, responsible, tenacious, independent, self-confident, high-energy, etc.

  • Ability to develop short and long-term strategic plans for all relevant levels of the enterprise / organization.

  • Influence over authority - must be comfortable achieving results through their influence rather than authority.

  • Must be a critical and strategic thinker with seasoned problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Excellent organization and analytical skills with emphasis on planning and operations.

The expected salary range for this particular position is $160,000-$250,000 (New Jersey/New York/California), $130,000-$210,000(Minnesota) depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
