What is the Opportunity?

This role is part of Group Risk Management (GRM) - U.S. Enterprise Risk, supporting the coordination of independent risk oversight of the RBC U.S. strategic plan and execution of the Strategic Risk Management framework for the Combined US Operations (CUSO), RBC's Intermediate Holding Company (RIHC) and branches within the U.S.

What will you do?

  • Assist with the development of periodic Issue Management reporting to CUSO senior management and the board, as well as ad-hoc presentations for management, formal reviews, and miscellaneous requests.

  • As part of reporting design, collaborate with lines of businesses (LoBs) and with the Enterprise to refine list of obtainable data elements and attributes that can provide insights into the landscape of risk across CUSO.

  • Support development of CUSO specific Issue Management metrics. Analyze portfolio of issues to uncover themes. Report on any identified themes.

  • Develop/refine CUSO procedures/guidance documents and training material to facilitate implementation of Issue Management Reporting programs in the US.

  • Assist with development and implementation of processes to monitor adherence to applicable policy and standards. Provide periodic reporting to senior management on adherence to policy and standards.

  • Coordinate, as appropriate, with stakeholders at the Enterprise and Lines of Businesses (LoBs) to facilitate alignment across CUSO.

  • Assist with periodic reviews and requests for information from Internal Audit and various stakeholders across Risk organization (make CUSO specific analytics/reporting)

  • Assist with development of ad-hoc presentations for management, formal reviews, and miscellaneous requests.

  • As needed, research a variety of topics and issues including emerging risks and trends and risk management best practices; summarize and communicate findings with team.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Law or other related fields.

  • 5+ years previous experience work in a Risk Management, Controls, or Audit role in a Financial Services organization.

  • Knowledge of one or more key risk discipline (e.g., Enterprise, Market, Counterparty, Credit, Liquidity and, Operational Risk).

  • Knowledge of and experience with data and reporting tools.

  • Experience with analyses to extract insights from data.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to advocate positions with stakeholders and senior management.

  • Inquisitive and proactive in identifying risks, proposing solutions and/or exercising sound and balanced judgment.

  • Strong ability to analyze problems and strong attention to detail.

  • Team player: ability to successfully partner with colleagues across departments and/or divisions.

  • Ability to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, changing environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of MS Office.

The expected salary range for this particular position is $110,000-$190,000 (New Jersey), depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
