Hannaford actively seeks out farmers and producers to join our Local program which celebrates not only local foods, but the preservation of farmland, local traditions and local jobs. The connection we have to the source of our fresh foods is core to the way we do business, becoming the first major supermarket in the United States to document that all its seafood products were sustainably harvested. Hannaford offers a flexible work environment, with a hybrid workexpectation for field-based positions of being physically present in-store and/or a General Office in your territory at least 3 days a week. Responsible for strategic growth and ongoing leadership and support of our independent business. Seek out and procure new independent accounts that are profitable to Hannaford and meet established strategic criteria. Be the strategic and growth contact for our independent operators and provide them with advice, counsel, support. Lead the independent team as they assist in maximizing the independent s sales and profits through the use of Hannaford/ADUS provided programs, as well as those specifically designed for our independent customers. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: > Develop the strategic direction for the future of our independent business to insure success of the owners and our company. Evolve this strategy to ensure that it aligns with and supports the overall strategy of the company. Job Title: Director Independent Accounts Full or Part Time: Full Time > Responsible for the aggressive growth of our wholesale business so that it is an important contributor to our bottom line profit and overall growth in our operating markets. > Assist each independent owner in determining and developing custom growth strategies. > Provide and validate information to support individual unit as well as multiple store expansion. > Provide the independent owners with the information necessary to expand the use of technology to support their business in a cost-effective manner. > Act as a confidential contact between our independent owners and Hannaford in general. Ensure that the individual departments within Hannaford are aware of the importance of that business and provide necessary support to it. > Lead the Independent Retail Support and Independent Accounting teams to support and advocate for our independents, leveraging the following departments: Communications, Training, Merchandising, Marketing, Financial Analysis, Site Research, Distribution, > Direct the Independent Team as they assist the independents in the implementation of those Hannaford/Delhaize programs which the retailer chooses to utilize. > Create an awareness at Hannaford and ADUS of the importance of our independent business when the primary focus for everyone is on our corporate stores. > Strike the proper balance between advocating for the independent owners and acting in the best short and long-term interests of the company. > Insure that key programs are understood, implemented, and maintained. > Provide insight and leadership to the independent owners to allow them to capitalize on industry change and innovation. > Target and procure new business that clears both the financial and strategic hurdles.
