Description
The Scenarios, Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (SMS&A) Operations Research Analyst shall provide analytical support to Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL) simulation projects under the cognizance of the G3, SMS&A Branch. This position requires the ability to work with a team of technical specialists in the field of modeling and simulation. This position will support a rapid development process PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with technical specialists in modeling and simulation

- Makes recommendations on studies efforts' scope, objectives, and timelines

- Utilizes modeling tools such as JMP, MATLAB, Chugger, and others to execute study plans

- Supports the development of written study reports and data repositories

- Provides regular updates on analytical progress to MS&A Director and Project Managers

- Coordinates and plans design of experiments related to MS&A efforts

- Collaborates with military personnel and stakeholders to refine project modeling

- Translates CONOPS into operational-level analytical objectives and metrics

- Analyzes collected data and develops quantitative models and analytical tools

- Prepares memos, reports, and documents translating findings and recommendations

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience, or a master's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to apply advanced mathematical and statistical methods
- Knowledge of modeling and measuring techniques, mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, and other scientific and economic principles
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Short-term planning abilities
- Proficiency in NGTS and AFSIM modeling platforms is highly desirable
- Subject to a comprehensive security investigation and must fulfill eligibility requirements for accessing classified information, demonstrating the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
Desired Skills
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as Arena, COMSOL Multiphysics, or custom simulation frameworks
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, R, or others for modeling and simulation purposes
- Experience in database management and SQL for storing and retrieving simulation data
- Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js to effectively present simulation results
- Familiarity with agent-based stochastic modeling and complementing approaches for operational and mission-level analysis
- Experience in reading multiple programming languages, including Python, C++, C#, Visual Basic, and XML
- Knowledge of statistical modeling and a willingness to learn modeling and simulation frameworks used in projects
- Ability to translate analytical results to stakeholders
- Familiarity with military modeling and simulation tools such as PROTEUS, MANA, VBS, JCATS, STORM, and others as required
- Understanding of the Design of Experiment process
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for presenting analytical findings
Clearance Information
SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET / SCI LEVEL
