Your Role

As a GenslerProject Manager in our dynamic Atlanta Office, you will leverage your attention to detail and interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional projects on time and within budget. Grow your project management experience while working on trendsetting projects across practice areas. A focus for the role will be managing projects in the Industrial and Critical Facilities practice areas with the ability to produce drawings and specifications as needed. This Project Manager is also responsible for championing Gensler's inclusion goals with respect to teammates, partners, and consultants.

What You Will Do

  • Lead architectural deliverables on projects, collaborating with Design Director, Technical Director, and project team for all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production
  • Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
  • Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions
  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings
  • Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
  • Advance the understanding that design resilience is a responsibility of every person at Gensler
  • Cultivate design expertise with the desire to always learn, grow, and evolve
  • Manage project teams for multiple projects
  • Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships
  • Engage directly with clients and other stakeholders to ensure approvals
  • Manage project scheduling, staffing/productivity, budgets, and project set-up with clients, sub-contractors, vendors and consultants
  • Track the financial performance of projects
  • Prepare project proposal, negotiate fees and contracts for projects
  • Coordinate bidding process
  • Ensure projects conform to contract
  • Create and communicate clear and attainable project objectives and requirements
  • Actively mentor the next generation of leadership by inspiring, empowering and leading by example, you are responsible for advancing an integrated design culture on your projects within the studio, including mentoring, resources, discourse, initiatives and recruiting new team members
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Ideally portfolios will include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview

Your Qualifications

  • 8-15 years' experience, inclusive of experience as a Project Manager, within commercial architecture firms
  • Interest in delivering engineering forward Critical Facilities and Industrial projects
  • Experience leading projects of a variety of scales, and mentoring and collaborating with Interior Designers and Architects
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal management skills
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients, and with other key constituents.
  • Commitment to a collaborative design process
  • Experience negotiating project scope and fees
  • Knowledge of local building codes and standards
  • Professional degree (Master or Bachelor) in Architecture from an accredited program
  • Licensed / Registered Architect + LEED accreditation are preferred
  • Proven experience mentoring and coaching junior team members
  • Proven experience building trust with clients and developing client relationships
