General Position Description:
The Regulatory Quality Engineer (QE) is responsible for ensuring that processes, products, and services comply with pertinent laws, regulations, and standards primarily related to the implementation and maintenance of the ISO9001 and IATF 16949 quality system requirements. Activities would also include investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities related to manufacturing issues, and customer claims.The QE uses Key Performance Indicators to determine the processes/products that require improvement using Problem Solving Techniques for continuous improvement.The Quality Assurance function is responsible for ensuring processes and procedures are defined and implemented to provide assurance to CES, customers, and regulatory agencies that all CES products are manufactured to the high level of quality they have come to expect.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and maintenance of ISO9001 and IATF 16949 Quality System requirements
  • Develop inspection and test plans for changed products, assist in the creation of PFMEAs and controls plans for new products including MSA's and process capability studies
  • Investigate and analyze non-conforming products for root cause using problem solving techniques.Work with appropriate personnel for implementation and validation of effective correction action.Communicate findings and actions to customers.
  • Foster awareness of CES quality standards, procedures, and work instructions and provide training as needed.
  • Manage customer audits and regulatory agency audits (i.e. UL, ASME, TUV, IATF, etc.)

Experience:

  • B.S. in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • 3+ year experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with regulatory and customer auditing of quality management system required
  • Experience in implementation and auditing to IATF 16949 required
  • Proficient at Problem Solving Techniques (5-why, 8D, A3)manufactured to the high level of quality they have come to expect.
