In the role of a part-time Accountant II you will be working in our Finance and Administration.
Purpose To be responsible for providing financial, accounting and administrative support regarding grant and contract policies and procedures, compliance, regulatory issues, and post-award administration and regarding the issuance, recording and collections student tuition and loans related to all student programs. Grants and contracts are funds awarded by federal, state and non-profit entities to support the research mission of MCW and the specific research work performed by faculty and staff employees.
Primary Functions
1. Create invoices on a monthly basis for submission to external sponsoring agencies. Activities include:
a. Review expenses to certify invoiced expenditures.
b. Monitor open receivables and perform collection inquires on delinquent payments.
2. Perform subrecipient monitoring in accordance with Uniform Guidance. Includes working with the Grants and Contracts Office to provide an assessment of sub-recipient audit risk, reviewing sub-recipient single audits for items of questioned cost and material weaknesses, and assisting with required sub-recipient reporting.
3. Prepare and process journal entries for service centers.
4. Perform activities related to the semi-annual time and effort reporting process in accordance with OMB 2 CFR Part 200.
5. Monitor and route non-salary cost transfer requests.
6. Support the preparation and collection of various documents required to be completed by students related to tuition and loans.
7. Create and submit payment requests for department.
8. Perform assigned duties related to the month-end and year-end financial statement closing and audit.
9. In addition to daily functions, this position will be responsible for various projects assigned to enhance department processes and procedures.

Part-time Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00
Position Requirements:
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis
Minimum Required Education:Bachelor's degree with major in Accounting
Minimum Required Experience:2 years
Preferred Experience: A complex, automated accounting environment with duties in the areas of financial analysis, financial statement preparation, complex spreadsheet preparation, account reconciliation and journal entries.
