What you will do-

The Plant Support Services Tech will report to the Plant Support Services Manager. The PSST will perform his/her duties under the direction of the PSS Manager. The PSST will be integral to ensuring operation, compliance and performance of all our key critical utilities as well as perform routine building maintenance tasks including but not limited to carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, general cleaning and other tasks as assigned. The PSST must work collaboratively and cross functionally and be able to effectively communicate with managers, operators and other staff, and understand operational objectives that are communicated verbally, in writing or through written diagrams.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience completing medium to complex tasks while adhering to tight schedules and have at least 2 years in a similar Facilities Maintenance role.

How will you do it-



  • Perform skilled work of average to considerable difficulty to accomplish a variety of mechanical maintenance tasks including: minor plumbing, minor electrical, equipment setting and alignment, mechanical repair of pumps, valves, and other related activities
  • Monitor running of all key critical utilities through process control systems including PLC and DCS control.
  • Work closely with the control room team to address any identified issues.
  • Perform scheduled checks on key systems throughout the shift.
  • Maintain operation chemical dosing systems that support our utilities including tasks such as chemical feed change-outs, pH calibration, etc.
  • Call in service providers to support planned and unplanned maintenance required to key utilities or facilities
  • Issue work permits to contractors - ensuring compliance to all applicable safety requirements.
  • Paint, remodel, refurbish areas
  • Repair, maintain/monitor all office equipment and amenities
  • Clean windows and glass doors
  • Pressure-wash of building exterior
  • Change HVAC filters
  • Remove and properly dispose of all recyclable materials
  • Change light bulbs, interior and exterior
  • Maintain exterior property, including snow removal, grass cutting, and brush trimming
  • Maintain office space, conduct office clean outs and refurbishment
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs
  • Support both exterior and interior fixes and upgrades (e.g. roofing, walls)
  • Assist with offline rebuilds
  • Positions will be scheduled according to our 12 hour rotating schedules (4 on 4 off)


Why you are right for the job-



  • Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing trade formal training, or Military equivalent required
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 2 years in a similar role in a Facilities Maintenance role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing operations environment is preferred.
  • Prior experience with control systems (DCS, PLC, and HMI interfaces) preferred.
