Job Title: Commercial Banker
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
As an aspiring commercial lender, you'll build a solid foundation in commercial banking through our comprehensive blended learning approach. This includes hands-on, experiential learning, where you'll work closely with your mentor and collaborate with team members on impactful projects. You'll gain valuable insight into how different teams come together to support our commercial clients and contribute to their success. What You'll Do:
- A Day in the Life - Your primary focus will be to gain a comprehensive understanding of departmental roles and functions and how they contribute to the broader organization. You will build expertise in key areas such as retail banking, credit, sales and delivery, loan operations and processing, and compliance. Throughout this process, you will cultivate relationships with key industry organizations, including the Independent Community Bankers Association and the Indiana Bankers Association. As you develop your skills and deepen your knowledge of commercial lending and other services, you will take on the responsibility of managing your own portfolio. This will involve analyzing data to assess the creditworthiness of current customers, evaluating the strength of existing loans through collateral inspections, reviewing interim financial statements, and utilizing other relevant methods.
- You're Part of a Team - You are a member of the commercial lending team which includes supporting our external commercial clients throughout the Madison Market. This role focuses on commercial, industrial and commercial real estate lending. You will also work with our partners across the banks various business lines to provide additional services needed.
What it Takes:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to analyze financial statements.
- Proficient in selling, negotiating, building relationships and cross selling.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail in creating professional presentations
