Responsibilities

We currently have a great opportunity available for a Database Administrator. The Database Administrator is responsible for installing and maintaining the performance of all database systems for SAI. This includes setting database standards, managing access, troubleshooting, and performance tuning as needed to maintain integrity and security across all organizational databases included in application development and infrastructural initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Identify, define, and assess the properties and specifications necessary for the database management system to meet current and future needs of the organization.
2. Define the logical database structure for new and existing application development. Design procedures for testing and implementing new applications in the database environment.
3. Work with cybersecurity team to ensure proper security measures are in place for all SAI databases. Remedy identified risks in a timely manner.
4. Assesses current and projected database performance on a regular basis. Recommend changes and enhancements to optimize database strategy and performance.
5. Maintain knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in DBMS and related technology.
6. Resolve data conflicts for matters such as naming conventions, data privacy, and data ownership. Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors and be available for on-call support for critical issues as needed.
7. In all development work, follow the applicable Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process, Sysmex Product Design and Development Process (PDDP), and Architecture Review Board (ARB) standards and procedures. Ensure project and department milestones and goals are met on time.
8. Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards as requested.
9. Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or 5 years required experience in Database Administration, which may include experience in the Armed Forces.

* In-depth knowledge of database technologies.
* Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools.
* Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
* Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling.
* Development experience with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS and PowerBI.
* Thorough understanding of file structures and design, information retrieval techniques, file access methods, and database controls and standards.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

The salary range for this role is $96,679 - $151,925.40 Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The total compensation package for this position also includes a choice of health care plan (medical, vision, and dental insurance), an annual incentive bonus, paid time off, parental leave, bereavement leave and a 401(K) for all eligible employees.
