*The range provided is based on cost of living/geography and what we believe is reasonable in the market at the time of posting. This role may be eligible for annual bonus and annual merit increase, as well as long term compensation. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors.

How You'll Perform the Role

This role is responsible for managing the Company's administration, operation and design of global health & welfare plans, retirement plans and programs for employee and union populations and their families. Novolex and its subsidiaries operate in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Europe.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide strategic guidance for U.S. and international benefit plans and programs, including plan choice, design and pricing, with an eye toward year-over-year plan improvements and cost containment
  • Partner with vendors to provide tactical support for plan administration and operations to ensure timeliness and high quality of service to enrolled members
  • Evaluate industry trends and best practices, seeking opportunities to enhance the competitiveness of our plans and programs; develop and present business proposals to plan sponsor
  • Ensure execution excellence of our U.S. and international benefit enrollment events
  • Partner with vendors and consultants to create a strategic communications plan and deliverables to engage employees and drive the right behaviors to improve wellbeing
  • Coordinate benefit and program procedures with stakeholders (e.g., Payroll, HR Service Center, external vendors) and ensure systems are correctly configured
  • Keep up with regulatory and international provincial requirements and implement changes to keep plans in compliance
  • Conduct benefits training for HR representatives to ensure they are adequately prepared to provide front line support to employees across our footprint
  • Play an active role in onboarding newly acquired companies to ensure a seamless transition to Company plans and programs
  • Up to 20% travel may be required


What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) and 10+ years' experience managing the administration, operations and design of large, self-funded and fully-insured U.S. plans
  • Experience managing international benefit programs
  • Experience skillfully negotiating benefits during union negotiations
  • Demonstrated experience with vendor management
  • Experience leading or playing a prominent role in large-scale projects using standard project methodology
  • Experience creating and presenting business cases to get leader buy-in
  • Excellent technical benefits writing skills and oral communication skills
  • Adept at navigating a large, global organization with a significant footprint and diverse workforce
  • Professional certifications (e.g., SHRM, CEBS or Certified Benefit Professional) preferred
