The Orthotic Fitter in the Prosthetics/Orthotics Section of the Department of Outpatient Therapies is designed to provide coverage for the 48X Ambulatory Surgery Center and will also provide coverage in other areas of the department as needed.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide direct patient care support for adult and pediatric patients requiring a variety of orthotic devices
- Evaluate, fit, adjust, & deliver a variety of Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS)
- Treat patients
- Take inventory
- Documentation
- Stock supplies
- Interact with staff, patients, volunteers, and visitors
- Work independently or with indirect supervision

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Must have a current/valid certification in one of the following: Prosthetics & Orthotics (CPO), Orthotics (CO), Orthotic Fitter (COF)
- Must be a graduate from an accredited NCOPE (National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education) Prosthetic/Orthotic/Orthotic Fitter educational program
- Must have 2 or more years of recent experience in Orthotics/Prosthetics
- Demonstrated recent experience with electronic medical record-keeping systems
- Demonstrated recent experience working in a hospital setting
- Demonstrated recent experience with taking inventory and ordering supplies
- Must currently be in good standing with the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, & Pedorthics (ABC) and the Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC)
- Must maintain all current certification(s)
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Orthotic Fitter (COF) with three 3 years or more experience post certification
- CO or CPO with 1 year or more experience post certification
