Job Summary:

  • Setting up and operating different machines, running and monitoring the output of machine tools, a highly automated manufacturing cell or process.
  • Working on or monitoring the output of an automated assembly line or assembly station. Know the manufacturing process in great detail, troubleshooting at an appropriate level and involving senior members of staff if/when they are not able to correct the problem.
  • Monitor and check the product quality as they will be responsible for identifying when the process is deviating from the norm and taking action to correct it.
  • Maintain accurate and clear documentation that proves that manufacturing is being carried out in accordance with both internal and external quality systems or regulations.
  • It is important that procedures are followed, but it is also important that it can be shown and proved that procedures were followed.



Job Description:

  • This position is responsible for performing all aspects of kitting the Connectivity Kits that will be utilized as field retrofit kits with operating commercial chillers to allow the chiller to connect to the Carrier Cloud platform.
  • The responsibilities will start with picking of all parts and the kitting of those piece components into a metal enclosure that is roughly 12"x12"x10".
  • This kitting will be comprised largely of electrical components including fuses, modems, power supplies, etc.
  • There will be light wiring and interconnections between the components and all work steps are documented in detailed pictorial-based Work Instructions.
  • The process will involve all steps from picking the subcomponents through to packaging & shipping. Each Connectivity Kit is expected to take ~15 minutes and there will be an expectation to produce at least 18+ kits per day.
  • There will also be an expectation for this person to oversee the amount of material that is on-hand at the Rapid Response center to ensure that there is enough to continue along with the kitting process, so we do not get behind.
  • In situations where there is upcoming material risk to properly perform the job, it is the expectation for this person to work with management and the procurement team to lead this situation to resolution.
  • This will be a high visibility position to the Carrier Commercial Chiller Aftermarket team and will be supporting a very critical and strategic program sponsored by the Carrier Executive Leadership Team.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Reading, interpreting, and adhering to assembly instructions.
  • Picking and assembly of all required components into a metal enclosure with light wiring and subcomponent interconnection. All components should be securely mounted within the enclosure and all wiring should be clean and tidy per the established work instructions.
  • Performing necessary tasks related to order fulfillment & document transactions appropriately within the ERP system (Data Works /SAP)
  • Preparing materials for shipping by weighing, packaging, labeling, and preparing necessary shipping documentation, such as: bills of lading, packing lists, & commercial invoices.
  • Coordinating pickup and delivery of material with service providers.
  • Performing cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Maintenance of the lab area and its dependent equipment to promote a safe and efficient workplace.
  • Each kit weighs roughly 15 pounds once complete so it is required to be able to safely lift and maneuver up to 30 pounds unassisted.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding and adherence to EH&S and Quality standards and processes.
  • Ability to self-manage and report efficiently in regular status updates.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Teams, Outlook.
  • Experience interfacing with Enterprise ERP systems.
  • Experience working with electrical and/or mechanical components.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods.
  • Attention to detail and sense of urgency in completing job tasks
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods.
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, professional attitude with customers, colleagues, and any other points of contact.
  • Ability to have the foresight to understand what materials will be needed to maintain ongoing continuity of the kitting operations and to also ensure that. daily outputs are exceeding 18 kits per day.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed based upon required outputs.


Required Qualification:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years direct experience in manufacturing assembly &/or electrical assembly preferred.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License.


Education

  • HS Diploma/GED.
