SUMMARY

The Acute Care Manager of Professional Development, a leader and mentor, works collaboratively with the VP of Acute Care Services and the Dept of Professional Development. Their role involves assessing, identifying, planning, implementing, coordinating, facilitating, and evaluating educational activities through a systems model. This includes the tools, theories, skills, and knowledge of the specialty to improve the healthcare practice of learners based on the Association of Nurse Professional Development (ANPD) Practice Model and per the Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing Practice. Supports patient care by being a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, quality, safe patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS

* A graduate of an accredited/approved nursing school and a master's degree in nursing focused on education
* Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification (MSNC) or Nursing Professional Development Certification within twelve months of employment of the position.

Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse.

Minimum, recent 5 years of nursing practice experience in the Critical Care setting setting.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience as an educator.
* Basic Life (BLS) Certification.
* Registered Nurse [Single or Compact State] (Required)
* ACLS Certification
* BLS Instructor Preferred
* ACLS Instructor Preferred
