OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking an experienced GIS Technician with at least two (2) years of experience to join our growing team at our client project office in Tucker, GA. This position is required to be on-site at a client site and in office at least three (3) days each week.

The typical pay range for this position is $23.51 - $29.71 per hour. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Take direction to perform GIS data gathering, digitizing, conversion, and analysis.
  • In an intermediate support role, apply cartographic standards to prepare maps and exhibits using GIS datasets on projects with limited to moderate complexity.
  • Complete GIS/Survey tasks using ESRI products including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) - four (4) years' experience working with ESRI Desktop ArcGIS Software (Desktop and Pro).
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online and mobile apps preferred.
  • Experience with MS Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Knowledge of shapefiles and geodatabases.
  • Knowledge of data projections and how to manipulate.
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic GIS concepts and methodologies such as drawing scale, spatial databases, spatial projections and coordinate systems, text and annotation placement, layer control, etc.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cartographic methods.
  • Attention to detail, organized, customer focused.
  • Work in a team and multitask.
  • Work effectively on tight deadlines when necessary.
  • Must be able to travel will be local and regional and may require up to 2 nights away at a time.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree or associate degree in a geospatial field preferred.
  • GIS Certificate preferred.
  • Local candidates preferred.
