Who We Are

The USTA Mid-Atlantic Foundation, one of 17 sections of the United States Tennis Association is seeking an efficient, proactive, and detail-oriented part-time Payroll Specialist. This role will oversee the organization's payroll functions within Paycor and handle the entire payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with government regulations.

The Role

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance while supporting financial reporting and employee compensation tracking. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and expertise in payroll systems.

    Oversee payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and deductions.
  • Process payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and pay rate adjustments.
  • Maintain and audit payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct quarterly payroll audits and implement necessary corrections.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to payroll systems and procedures.
  • Track employee work hours, wages, compensation, and leave balances.
  • Process payroll payments via electronic systems or physical checks.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and supervisors.
  • Generate payroll reports for upper management and finance teams.
  • Train new hires on timekeeping, payroll procedures, and expense submissions.
  • Perform other payroll-related duties as assigned.
Who You Are
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
  • 3-5 years of payroll-related experience (required).
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or Payroll Manager.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll software (Paycor preferred).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, human resources, or a related field (preferred, but not required).

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $35.00 to $50.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a part-time, temporary remote position requiring 10-15 hours per week. The role reports to the HR Director and collaborates closely with the HR Generalist.
