Prefer master's degree in accounting or finance, Business Administration or other business-related field, and two to five years of professional experience in related field; Professional certification in the field, such as a

Position Summary |
The Director - Budget and Financial Reporting will coordinate annual operating budget development for all sports and departments within the
UGA Athletic Association to include logistics, data gathering, analysis, implementation, and communication. In addition, this position will assist with long-term financial planning, forecasting, and analysis to encompass budget, cash flows, debt/financing, capital projects, operations, payroll, and change management initiatives for the Association. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
- Strong interpersonal, management, communication and organizational skills, an in-depth knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and the ability to effectively represent the College within and outside of the campus community.
- Advanced knowledge in accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and the ability to maintain the financial status of a variety of statements and records.
- Advanced computer skills including an extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and competence in creating and working with spreadsheet applications.
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple tasks and work cooperatively and effectively with a wide range of staff across a department.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, an aptitude for working with numbers, and above average analytical skills are essential.
- Self-motivated, and accustomed to working in a high volume, fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment.

- Coordinate annual operating budget development for all sports and departments within the Association (logistics, data gathering, analysis, implementation, and communication).
- Track, analyze, & project operating budget progress throughout the fiscal year, including internal reporting and remediation of issues. Develop new policies and practices for effective budget management.
- Track financial aspects of capital projects such as updates to monthly reports and cash flow, which include fundraising, budgeting, spending, and financing to ensure appropriate fiscal management, communication, and alignment with long-term strategic planning.

- Assist with long-term financial planning, forecasting, and analysis to encompass budget, cash flows, debt/financing, capital projects, operations, payroll, and change management initiatives for the Association, to include the related research, policy development, presentation/communication, and implementation needed in conjunction with impacted units and Association leadership.
- Prepare all external financial reporting information, most notably the annual EADA Report and NCAA Financial Report. Complete ad-hoc reports and surveys requested by the Southeastern Conference, NCAA, state, creditors, and others.
- Assist with financial data analytics and visual reporting to facilitate strategic and tactical decision making.
- Assist with coordination of special projects and program/process improvement initiatives for the Association (logistics, scheduling, research, data compilation), in the form of proformas, presentations and reports, board meeting preparation, working groups and committees, and capital acquisitions.

- Responsible for ad-hoc review (minimum of once annually) of UGAA policies and procedures, recommendation of updates to senior leadership, communication of changes to UGAA staff, and related updates to business and travel office website to reflect amended policies and procedures.
- Assist with ensuring the Association's compliance with SEC and NCAA cap regulations, including assistance with preparing necessary reports to the appropriate governing bodies.
- Assist with managing and optimizing the scholarship budget and Name, Image & Likeness (NIL) compensation for student-athletes.
