Responsibilities

New on-site opportunity based in Billerica, MA for a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic to assist in all areas of Facilities Department responsibilities. This position requires a minimum of 2-3 years' work experience in Facilities Maintenance and the hands-on ability to perform maintenance tasks with an emphasis on safety. HVAC and/ or Electrical experience a plus.

General Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance of buildings and grounds, office and departmental relocations including set up, removal, or relocation of cubicles. Installations of office and building equipment. Painting, general maintenance. Light construction. Assist in basic plumbing repairs and installations. Assist in light rigging. Assist in Emergency response mobilization for water damage, drain, power, HVAC failures, Alarm activation notification, security notification, or other facility emergency notification events. Assist in seasonal maintenance of walkways and entrances. Assist in maintaining Recycling program. Assist in routine inspection and clearing of roof drains. Assist in routine inspections of buildings and grounds. Assist in facilities related equipment inspections, troubleshooting & repair. Assist all departments in facility related matters.

HVAC / Electrical Maintenance: Assist in routine maintenance and inspection of various electrical and HVAC and mechanical equipment. Assist in electrical installations and maintenance of electrical systems under the supervision of a licensed electrician, such as voice /data cabling, power wiring, trouble shooting, install and maintain new and existing electrical installations, various facilities electrical maintenance requirements.

Administration: Assist Facilities Manager and the Facilities Department with meeting vendors, escorting personnel as required, notification and scheduling vendors, maintenance logs, reporting, requisitions, filing data, and related activities. Assist with OSHA and regulatory compliance. Assist the Human Resources department with related matters as appropriate. Assist in coordination of on-site notification and release of information regarding external vendors with Facility Maintenance Team members.

Perform other duties as required.



Qualifications

    High School Graduate, Trade school a plus.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years hands-on maintenance work experience. HVAC and/ or Electrical experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive and supportive business relationships with all parties.
  • Fluent written and spoken English with basic MS Office, Word, Excel proficiency.
  • Strong verbal, written, computer communication and interpersonal presentation skills with attention to detail and timely, courteous customer response.
  • Ability to serve as Safety Committee representative.
  • Prior EHS, First Responder First Aid/CPR/AED, Lock Out/ Tag Out, Ladder and Lab Safety, Motorized hand and fork truck training desirable.
  • This position involves a field work environment: can be exposed to the weather elements, lab chemicals, High Field Magnets, and various analytical instruments.
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete position training and compliance requirements, maintain current knowledge of company tools and processes.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and transport equipment and tools in excess of 300 lbs.
  • This position may require lifting heavy objects and maneuvering large bulky items (examples: tools, mechanical pumps, rigging equipment, power supplies, field mapper).
  • This position requires reasonable dexterity to perform manual functions in confined spaces.
  • Proven ability to follow safety standards, practices, and codes.
  • Operates with a high standard of ethics, integrity, and professionalism
  • Reliable transportation and valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
  • Maintain a valid passport with flexibility for domestic and international travel.
  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.

At Bruker, the base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $44,100 and $76,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits, including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
