iQ Credit Union is expanding, and we're looking for dynamic individuals to join our exceptional team as we prepare for the opening of our new Sherwood branch, tentatively set to open this September! The Member Advisor acts as a resource to members, using sound judgement in member questions and problem-solving. Provides exceptional service in account and lending relationships, identifying ways to optimize the members credit union experience. Acts as back-up supervisor and is a resource to branch staff.

Essential Duties:



  • Maintain an excellent knowledge of the features and benefits of Credit Union services and of selling skills.
  • Successfully cross-sell Credit Union services.
  • Meet established performance objectives in member service and operations.
  • Acts as a branch resource to staff and members in any capacity.
  • Uses sound judgement skills in navigating member questions and scenarios.
  • Maintains strong working knowledge of daily branch operations.
  • Acts in a supervisory capacity during management absences, including directing workflow of the branch, assisting team members, using judgement in member interactions.
  • Assists with training and onboarding of newer staff.
  • Maintains Vault balancing and cash operations knowledge.
  • Actively participate in department activities and weekly sales meetings to achieve service and sales goals.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure a positive team environment and overall member experience.
  • Maintains production metrics for Member Advisor Levels.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and transfers received over the counter, through the mail, and by telephone.
  • Assist members with any inquiries, questions, or problems to insure any account errors or problems are resolved. This includes any research and accuracy in cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Promptly and efficiently handle direct, phone, or written inquiries or requests from members or other staff.
  • Utilize the Credit Union's Member Management system to build and maintain a personal Book of Business (BOB).
  • Contact new managed relationship members utilizing the Member Onboarding strategy.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all facets of the Credit Union, including eligibility for members, types of accounts available (savings, checking, loans and other financial services).
  • Follow up with all referral opportunities via both phone and written communication.
  • Initiate daily quality assurance/sales calls to build relationships with members and increase use of Credit Union services.
  • Successfully complete the Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP) and pass the final examination to earn the Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation through CUNA. Utilize acquired knowledge to deliver comprehensive financial counseling services to members, fostering financial wellness for both iQ members and the wider community as needed.
  • Organize work in order to give prompt attention to member requests.
  • Maintain a complete knowledge of compliance rules and regulations applicable to your position. Compliance with all federal and state government laws.
  • Adhere to standard security procedures, including safe deposit security. Attend all mandatory robbery and security training. Validate your robbery and bomb threat packets are current at all times.
  • Demonstrate strong regulatory knowledge applicable to this position and understand and comply with government regulations with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US Patriot Act and related regulations.
  • Actively participate and fulfill expectations in the Credit Union Email Security Awareness Program as outlined in the Information Security Program Acknowledgement document.


This position is subject to the SAFE Act Registration Requirements - You must register and remain in good standing with the Federal Registry System (NMLS) per the SAFE Act requirements. You will be required to submit to the SAFE Act background check and fingerprinting process. Failure to register successfully or to maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act will affect your continued employment and may cause immediate termination.



Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience:

6 months to three years of similar or related experience.

Education:

A high school education or GED

Additional Details:

Branch Hours:Monday through Friday 9:30am to 5:30pm. Saturdays 9:30am to 2:00pm. Closed Sundays.

Location:Most training will take place at our Southwest Washington branches. Candidates must be open to commuting for training opportunities. Position Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Compensation:We are hiring for three positions across our Member Advisor levels:



  • Member Advisor I: $19.90 - $25.87 per hour
  • Member Advisor II: $21.16 - $28.57 per hour
  • Member Advisor III: $23.00 - $31.05 per hour


Compensation is based on experience, with target starting rates of $20, $21, and $23 per hour, respectively.
